The goal of this project was to create an illustration that expresses the feeling of visiting a dépanneur in the dead of night. In these late hours, the familiar place can start to feel surreal. These neon-outfitted buildings can act as like beacons of light in a silent ghost town. However, they can feel equally threatening; their artificial glow invading the serenity of deep night.
To give the illustration a surrealist feel and add a homage to Quebec, I decided to base the architecture off of Habitat 67.
